Hose Assembly Selection Guide
Classification: Hose
Product details:
Hose Assembly
Uses: PT1W hoses offered by EAGLE can be used for gases and liquids, and other rubber hoses be used for liquids and low-pressure gases below 16 bar.Hose and fitting materials as well as their chemical compatibility with the delivered fluid are of critical importance to the life of hose assemblies!
Technical Data
Pressure: the pulse pressure or peak pressure of a hose system must be lower than the maximum working pressure of the hose.
Temperature: the internal medium temperature and external ambient temperature of a hose assembly must be lower than the continuous operating temperature of the hose. In general, high temperature and pressure conditions reduce the life of hoses and high temperature conditions help high-temperature hose protective sleeves protect hoses.

Representation of Hose Assembly Lengths

Representation of Assembly Angles of Hose Assemblies:
Set a hose assembly with elbows at both ends on the same straight line; take the vertical direction of a hose fitting at the far end as the datum and measure clockwise the angle between the other hose fitting and the vertical hose fitting, namely the assembly angle.

The performance of an assembly depends on correct assembly. Excessively long assemblies will not only affect their appearance but also cause unnecessary waste. If the assembly is too short, hose expansion and retraction will affect power transmission and reduce hose life.
The diagrams below show the correct ways of assembly installation to achieve maximum working efficiency and economic benefits.

Since the hose length will show +2% to -4% variations under high pressure, the hose needs to be slack enough.

If the hose bend radius is smaller than the minimum bend radius, an adapter must be used to avoid excessive hose bending.

pipelines by using 45° or 90° connectors and adapters.

Since the hose length changes as the pressure rises, do not fix hose bends with tube clamps, but protect the hose with spring protective sleeve. In addition, do not fix high- and low-pressure pipelines together with tube clamps, but protect the hoses with spring protective sleeves.

Appropriate assembly lengths play an important role in distributing movement caused by mechanical motions and can effectively avoid wear.

Avoid twisting the hose onto different surfaces. Tube clamps should be used at transitions between surfaces.

To avoid hose twists, the hose bending direction should be consistent with the direction of mechanical movement.

Do not twist the hoses. Installation at a twisted position will damage the hose and the pressure in the twisted hose will cause the hose fittings to become loose. Therefore, make sure hose designs involve bends rather than twists.

In no case should the hose bend radius be made smaller than the minimum bend radius indicated on the product manual. Besides, appropriate protective sleeves should be used to ensure the hoses are not excessively bent. A hose curvature exceeding the rated value will significantly reduce its service life.
